The Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE), a nationwide network of independent colleges and universities formed to support and enrich vocational exploration among undergraduate students, awarded 69堂精品app a $19,874 Professional Development Grant.
NetVUE provides grant opportunities to its members in support of programming that encourages undergraduate students to explore and discern their many callings in life. Through the Professional Development Grant, 69堂精品app will support a team of faculty and staff working to develop campus conversations about vocation and deepen the capacity of those who lead vocational exploration efforts at ODU.
ODU remains rooted in the Dominican tradition as we contemplate vocation and human flourishing as a framework for engaging generative AI technologies. Faculty and staff members will participate in a number of activities through which they will articulate a shared understanding of vocation. This understanding will be studied extensively and then applied to questions about the work humans are uniquely called to do, moral character development, and spiritual growth in an increasingly AI-driven environment.
Through this values-based approach to vocational exploration, ODU will respond to the opportunities and challenges posed by AI and produce six unique guides for faculty, staff, and students to consult as we sustain further inquiry into what it means to be human in an AI world. The guides and resources produced can be used in future faculty development workshops, curriculum development, and other student-focused programming activities. They will also demonstrate how Dominican values can serve as a foundation for building a bridge between human flourishing and AI technologies.
鈥淚 want to express my sincere gratitude to NetVUE for selecting 69堂精品app to receive this award which will allow a team of designated faculty and staff the dedicated time and effort to contemplate the implications of what it means to be human in an AI world. Ohio Dominican is committed to further equip our students with the intellectual, spiritual, and professional growth needed to flourish in today鈥檚 global society and grateful for this opportunity,鈥 said Dr. Shonna Riedlinger, president of 69堂精品app.
