A group of four MBA students from 69堂精品app鈥檚 MBA program (ODU) has achieved significant recognition, placing 19th globally in the prestigious GLO-BUS strategy simulation competition. This top-20 finish places ODU among elite company, outperforming teams from internationally recognized institutions such as the University of Maryland, Mississippi State University, Minnesota State University - Moorhead, SUNY 鈥 Farmingdale, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, and Universidad de Almer铆a.

The worldwide GLO-BUS strategy competition challenges students to manage a virtual company in a globally competitive environment. Over the course of an eight-week capstone class, ODU鈥檚 teams make strategic decisions related to production, marketing, finance, and operations in order to outperform rivals in a dynamic, real-world-like business scenario. The competition includes MBA students from hundreds of universities worldwide.

鈥淚t helped me with the leadership aspect鈥擨 took on the president role,鈥 said team member Jadelyn McNerney. 鈥淏eing able to delegate work and say, 鈥極kay, I am going to focus on this鈥攃an you do more research on that, then report back?鈥 gave me practice in my leadership skills. Also, working with different types of people was great. I learned how to show different leadership styles depending on who I was working with, because everyone is different.鈥

Despite being a smaller program compared to some of the universities they outperformed, ODU鈥檚 MBA team proved that talent, dedication, and strategic thinking can rival or surpass name recognition and size.

鈥淏eing able to put everything I learned into executing and finishing in the top 20 makes me feel like I have no regrets anymore,鈥 said McNerney. 鈥淚 got the education that I wanted, and this [ranking] shows why.鈥

Over the eight-week class led by, Dr. Thomas Eveland, students analyzed market trends, refined their strategies, and adapted to real-time competitive shifts in the simulation鈥攁ll while balancing their academic and professional commitments. The result reflects the hard work, collaboration, and strategic thinking fostered by ODU鈥檚 MBA program.

鈥淢any courses teach strategy, but this global competition gives us the chance to take what we know conceptually and apply it using real data, decision-making, reporting, and market information,鈥 said the team鈥檚 instructor, Dr. Eveland. 鈥淭his team clearly did an excellent job鈥攏ot just talking about strategy but implementing it in a very real way.鈥

Ohio Dominican continues to demonstrate that its MBA graduates are prepared to lead in the global business landscape, not just through theoretical learning, but by applying knowledge in practical, competitive environments against the best in the world.
